LLR Announces 2026 Safety Award Recipients

The Safety Awards program is the Agency’s way of rewarding employers, both large and small, for the success of their safety and health programs.
The 2026 Safety Award Recipients are in the following three categories:
Palmetto Shining Star – These employers met at least one of the following criteria for the private sector: (1) no recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2025; (2) a reduction of at least 40% in the employer’s incidence rate between 2024 and 2025; (3) a difference of at least 75% in the employer’s 2025 incidence rate and the 2024 South Carolina average rate for that industry; or
(4) worked one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness in 2024. For the public sector, the employers met one of the following criteria: (1) no recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2025; (2) a reduction of at least 20% in an employer’s incidence rate between 2024 and 2025 or a difference of at least 50% in the employer’s 2025 incidence rate and the 2024 South Carolina average rate for that industry.

- Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC – Construction
- ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC
Rising Star – These employer’s 2025 incidence rate was at least 75% lower than the 2024 national average incident rate for that respective industry.
- Vulcraft – South Carolina
Gleaming Star – These employers had less than 100 employees during 2024 and 2025, and demonstrated a culture of safety and health both on-site and in the community, and implemented new emerging technologies within the last year.
